Ani* was born in Cambodia to Vietnamese parents. When she reached 13 years old, she was sold to a massage parlor for 500 dollars. She was sexually exploited in the massage parlor for two years and was abused by five to ten customers a day. In 2017, her situation was uncovered by the Cambodian police and she was referred to a social shelter in the country. Eventually, she was able to reunite with her father in Viet Nam. The IOM Global Assistance Fund developed with Ani a reintegration plan and provided the support to help her start a new life in Viet Nam.
